With so many different platforms to advertise on and so many different types of ads on each one, it can be confusing to figure out what the best method is for your business.
This week we’ll be focussing on Facebook as it’s one of the platforms most used for online advertising. Here are the most common ads and their requirements, which you should keep in mind every time you create one:
Feed Ad
For the image:
. Recommended size: 1,200 x 628 pixels.
. Minimum width and height: 600 pixels.
. Image should be JPG or PNG.
. No more than 20% of image overlain by text.
For the ad copy:
. Description: up to 125 characters.
. Headline: up to 25 characters.
. Link description: up to 30 characters.
Sponsored Message ads
For the image:
. Recommended image size: 1,200 x 628 pixels.
. Minimum width 254 pixels and height 133 pixels.
. Format should be JPG or PNG.
. No more than 20% overlain by text.
For the text:
. Description: up to 125 characters.
. Headline: up to 25 characters.
. Link description: up to 30 characters
Feed Video Ad
For the video:
. Highest resolution possible.
. Minimum dimensions: 600 x 315pixels or 600 x 600pixes.
. Format should be .MP4 or .MOV.
. File size: up to 4GB.
. Maximum length: 240 minutes.
Carousel Ad
For the image:
. Image size: at least 1080 x 1080 pixels.
. Minimum width and height: 600 pixels.
. Minimum 2 cards and maximum 10 cards.
. File size: up to 30MB.
. Format should be JPG or PNG.
. No more than 20% overlain by text.
For the ad copy:
. Description: up to 125 characters.
. Headline: up to 40 characters.
. Link description: up to 20 characters
For a video:
. Minimum resolution: 1080 x 1080 pixels.
. Minimum 2 cards and maximum 10 cards.
. Format should be .MP4 or .MOV.
. File size: up to 4GB.
. Maximum length: 240 minutes.
. No more than 20% of thumbnail overlain by text.
